This Year’s Tournament – Monday September 13, 2010

Welcome to the 9^th Annual Northeast Utilities/Connecticut Light & Power Special Olympics Connecticut (SOCT) Golf Tournament. NU’s largest subsidiary, Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P) is the host this year and their President, Jeff Butler, is joining this year in many of the activities of this great event. We are again at the fabulous Lake of Isles Golf Resort in North Stonington, Connecticut (directly across the street from the entrance to Foxwoods). We are hoping that everyone can come back again this year to help us continue what has become a great tradition for almost a decade.

Last year was another resounding success that culminated in the presentment of a check for $75,000 to the SOCT President Beau Doherty. That check brought our 8 year total to just short of $500,000. We will also continue with the Poker event at Foxwoods hosted by SOCT’s very close friend, Susan Saint James. The Poker event will happen the day before on Sunday afternoon, September 12. It’s our fifth year with the Poker, and that event is adding an additional $10,000+ to everyone’s favorite charity. These contributions are helping to support over 6,000 athletes in local events and are an important source of funding to prepare the Connecticut contingent of athletes at the National Games in Nebraska this summer.
