This year we are teeing off for our 10th Anniversary celebration at the Connecticut Light & Power, Yankee Gas, and Foxwoods Resort Casino Golf Tournament for Special Olympics Connecticut. In the last decade, with your dedication and support, over half a million dollars has been raised for the 13,180 athletes and partners of Special Olympics Connecticut. What an accomplishment!
Because of you, our friends with intellectual disabilities are able to train and compete year round in 26 sports. Our athletes practice with local teams who then compete at region and statewide events. Across Connecticut there are athletes practicing, training and competing right at this moment.
Because of you, our athletes have been able to travel the country and compete at the 2006 and 2010 National Games in Iowa and Idaho. Our athletes have been able to travel the world at Special Olympics Summer and Winter Games in Japan, China, and most recently, Greece!
This is more than just a golf tournament. This event changes lives. You are making a difference, all while playing on one of the greatest golf courses in the state.
Thank you to our amazing committee, who each year makes this event better and better. Thank you to all the sponsors and supporters. And most importantly, thank you to all of the golfers who take the time to play in honor of our athletes.
